The Great Food Festival was a brand new event for 2025 set on a relatively new development, Great Park.
A three day event on the final weekend of August promising family entertainment, street food, bars, craft stalls and of course, coffee!
A new event is always a gamble and a huge guessing game surrounding stock levels. I'd been up at the Bellingham Show in between the two days I traded here so felt fairly confident that I wouldn't be awash with milk come the Sunday evening. My prediction was actually a little way out on this one, but in the right direction though as I had to restock on milk mid-afternoon.

Events like this that start on a weekday are generally always slow but fortunately the weekend's trade was to make up for the slow start. I've been at events before when what the promoter has advertised falls short of reality but this one delivered exactly what was promised and the footfall and sense of local community was incredible.
I was positioned with the stage right behind me, which can sometimes be more of a curse than a blessing but there was a constant stream of really good local acts that took to the stage keeping everyone entertained.
There's been mention of a Christmas festival 11th - 14th December. If you happen to be in the area, drop in. Entrance is free and you could grab yourself a unique Christmas present for a loved one or perhaps just treat yourself to a coffee or maybe even a Baileys Hot Chocolate!
