Bellingham Show

The last weekend of August was to be a Bellingham sandwich as I was on another event the days either side. I traded at this event last year so I knew roughly what to expect this time, as long as the weather played ball, which it did, until at least, it was time to pack up.

The journey to the Bellingham Show is one of the longest I make with the van at 40 miles with the last 5 miles or so being a bit of a challenge towing up and down the roman roads. It was an early start too as the show opens to the public at 9am and I like to have an hour to setup and get the coffee machine and urn up to temperature.

My trading neighbours for the day were Gin & Tonia, as they had been last year. It's always nice to trade alongside familiar faces and I like to think our offerings complimented each other well throughout the day. As well as a familiar trading neighbour, I was delighted to see a number of returning customers who had visited me last year make a beeline for me as soon as they entered the show.

The show itself has plenty to offer and keep the family entertained all day. On show are vintage vehicles (just behind me), a fell race, sheep dog trials and equine classes are just a few of the many, many events.

Last year I had underestimated the demand for quality coffee and had to close at 2pm to walk the just over a mile round trip to restock on milk. Fortunately the notes I make after each event I trade it meant I went with plenty of stock this time, with no early closing!

I look forward to returning in 2026. If you fancy attending, the date for next year is Saturday 29th August.
