Early in September I received an enquiry via the contact page of my website to provide a hot drinks package for Aratellus, the world’s most technologically advanced seabed investigation and intervention solutions company for offshore energy. This event was to be a relatively small one for their customers to view their equipment following on from a subsea event at the same location at the Port of Blyth the day before.

The remit for this was much the same as for most of my corporate engagements, hot drinks but mainly coffee, plenty of coffee. As the event was booked as a prepay package it had a feeling of unlimited opulence for those attending and meant that I didn't have to charge the guests which I think feels a bit weird when people have been invited to attend an event in the first place. It also helps reduce my waste as I know approximately what to order from my suppliers.

The attendees had travelled from as far away as London to attend this short but very important event so it was a real plus for the company to extend such generous hospitality and for me to showcase just a small selection of the quality, local ingredients I'm so fortunate to have the pleasure of working with from the coffee roasted in North Shields to the organically farmed milk in Darlington.

The additional bonus for me with this event was that it was just along the coast from Bass Notes Coffee HQ!
