A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of taking the van down to NT Washington Old Hall for a few days, one of which was to coincide with their 4th July celebrations. This was to see if there might be a long-term demand for refreshment where there had previously been onsite provision in the café there pre-covid.

Although my presence was incredibly well received, sadly a long-term venture there was to be financially unsustainable. I was very fortunate with the weather on my visits though and enjoyed some slower paced days with great company from the staff and visitors to the Hall and gardens.

When I started Bass Notes Coffee one of my aims was to work with the National Trust in some way and it is my hope that this initial collaboration will blossom into a long standing relationship. As I write this I'm preparing to support the Trust's café at Souter Lighthouse as we look to welcome hundreds of runners and their support teams with refreshment and parking provision for the ever popular Great North Run.

Not every event I attend has to bring the promise of fame and fortune, well fortune anyway! Sometimes it's about forging long-term relationships with valued, appreciative clients and that we can both work towards a profitable future together. It is my sincere hope that I can add the National Trust to that steadily increasing list.
